5 Anime Shows That Need to Go Back to TV

Aside from the usual and more popular anime showsthat had multiple re-runs—Dragon Ball Z, Ghost Fighter, Flame of Recca, Doraemon, Pokemon, Naruto, and One Piece—on televisions year after year, we listed five of the most nostalgic and worth-watching anime shows we all loved (and still do) and wish to watch all over again.

Aside from this show’s really catchy and nostalgic theme song (that dramatic opening tho!), Magic Knight Rayearth is truly one of those classic ordinary girls-turned-superheroes anime series.

The show combines magic and robots in a parallel fantasy world setting, making the anime really interesting and captivating. The trio protagonists’—Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu—superhero outfits look super cool as well!

And then there’s Mokana, the super cute and mischievous rabbit-like creature that has a mysterious red gem in his forehead and only makes the sound “puu”.

I am sure you once dreamed of becoming a badass detective in the future because of this thrilling and smartly written anime series.

Remember when you tried so hard to guess who the real culprit is (and failed) just to get your mind blown on how Conan connects all the clues and solves the mystery every single time?

The plot, unexpected twists, and shocking revelations alone are enough to make you get hooked with every single episode. The charming character of the protagonist, aptly named Conan, made kids and adults alike adore this show until the very end.

P.S. We know you secretly want that super cool voice-changing bowtie too! *wink*

Who could ever forget the talking kettle named Takure? Talk about real anime throwback!

The endless time travel chase of the main characters—Henry and Mayumi—versus the villain Abdullah is a unique twist for a classic saving-the-princess plot. I’m sure the name Princess Shalala has somehow been etched in your brain, too! LOL

It’s been a very long time since we have last watched Time Quest on television. Isn’t it time to bring it back and let kids nowadays know what a real fun and entertaining anime is? Agree? Agree!

Slam Dunk

The very reason why our afternoons were filled with laughter and adrenaline—Shohoku! Shohoku! Shohoku!

Slam Dunk is probably the most celebrated sports-themed anime series that no matter who your bias is—whether its Team Captain Akagi, the super rookie Rukawa, the three-pointer Mitsui, the ace point guard Miyagi, or the self-proclaimed “King of Rebounds” Sakuragi—we can’t all help but get inspired and cheer for the Cinderella-run of Team Shohoku in their basketball games.

With each character’s funny antics and the realistic wins and losses of the team, an anime has never been this fun, most especially for basketball die-hard fanatics like a lot of Filipinos.
